Tart? Psychic? Weight Gain?!

I love getting packages in the mail, more so when they are from my sister Cat!

I am curious as to whether or not she is trying to send me a message with her choice of post card though...

I commented on her necklace in a photo so she sent me one too! I love it.

Am I mixing too many colors here? It's possible.

Pretty much my entire outfit is from Zara.

I think I need to branch out more.

I don't do many outfit posts in Winter as I always look like a Vagrant. I cant help it, I hate winter clothes.

I've been battling that bastard flu which is floating around at the moment, not to mention that my cough sounds like a dog coughing up a fur ball.

I've been drinking this stuff like water. Then I realised there is a limit to how much you can drink.
I haven't died yet, so so far so good.

I've been sleeping in our spare room, which has my old bed in it.  I forgot how amazing that bed is!!

You cannot tell here, but I am orange.

cotton socks got a spray tan machine and used us as guinea pigs. Not too bad of a job, but over 24 hours and 2 showers later and the tan is getting more orange and splotchy. Interesting.

I also had my first Ethiopian cuisine experience which I rather enjoyed!
I couldn't help but think that the injera (bread) had the same texture as human skin would, but that is not to say that it was not delicious.

It was a communal plate and eaten with hands instead of cutlery. So good!

holly pop, cotton socks, Alicia, Kate and I trekked to Daylesford to see a psychic and what a trip that was.

He did both a palm and tarot reading of me, and everything that he said about me, our families, my past, and The Husband was spot on. It was incredible.

He also told me that I need to gain weight if I want to fall pregnant, that my body needs to be rounder.
I've put on 7kg in 6 months so I don't like the sounds of this. I am a completely normal body weight and probably should not take weight gain advice from a psychic, even if he was marvelous.

I told The Husband and he said I should give it a shot, a few kg wont hurt.
My wardrobe disagrees. My clothing already isn't fitting me properly!!

Have you ever seen a psychic? Are you a believer? Tell me your spooky stories!!

  1. Yeah saw Tom Ward (or is it Wards) a few years ago and some things were spot on, other things I just thought that he was full of shit LOL. Said I'd meet an Anne Marie (now my SIL), wedding and baby in October (bro and SIL married in October, nephew was born in October). They are the main things that have always stuck in my head.

You try Topshop yet? Apparently there's more stores coming in the next 12 months (H&M, Abercrombie and Fitch, Forever 21 and a few more I can't remember).

  2. :P you look great no matter what the season = ) btw, im loving the fact that your husband told you to put more kgs on in case the psychic is right. It's been three months since ive had a baby, ive lost like 15kg just thru breastfeeding, another 7kg to go till im back to pre-pregnancy weight and already the husband is hassling me to lose weight. I'm running on a treadmill like a heffer i tell you. I wish my husband would like a round curvy figure! But then again i'd love your figure also. I hope you have a baby sooooooooooooooooooooooon! I always think about you and when your going to post that your pregnant. I pray it is soon for you. Cyber hugs. Marta

    1. Marta - sorry to butt in, but I'm absolutely confident you're beautiful & who cares what hubby likes. YOU GAVE BIRTH. Haha, sorry, that is all. If you want to lose the weight of course go for it :) x

    2. Marta - You just had a baby!! Take it easy. The weight is not meant to fall off, and you have more important things to do than stressing that your husband wants you to lose weight.
I would be ropeable if The Husband told me to lose weight, and after a baby? Hells no.
      Thanks for your prayers xx

    3. Tell your husband to shut his face. You gave birth 12 weeks ago! God some men are unbelievable. You've lost an incredible amount of weight in that time, in fact any more than that would be considered unhealthy

    4. Marta, I hope your husband is kidding.

  3. I've spoken to a medium - I was very sick at the time with CFS/ME, which most people don't even know what it is... he knew, without me hinting even a little. He listed all my symptoms, then basically listed my medical history. He then told me my late grandmother (who I never met and was a nurse) told me to drink Earl Grey tea... on asking Dad (who still thinks psychics etc are a load of bs) he said his Mum always drank earl grey. He described how an uncle of mine died (when my mum was 4) and how he was trying to communicate with her. There was a bit of mystery surrounding his death and he said that 'it was the two that went straight up north after it happened'.... he was sitting on a pier then found in the ocean (couldn't swim) and straight afterwards two of his friends went to QLD.. I COULD GO ON FOREVER! It was amazing.

Only thing he got wrong is that my brother or I should have had a baby 3 years ago.

  4. I've never seen one, not sure it's my thing.

Was tempted when a few friends were going, one of THEIR friends had a scary accurate reading about a year earlier and heaps of stuff came true. Then when my friend went, he reading was so so false. Turned me off.

I guess I would only be going to one to get reassurance that my life will turn out how I want even if it doesn't feel like it's on the right track now (with an unemployed boyfriend and all) and that I won't miss out of having kids when everything (marriage, house) keeps getting put off.

If they didn't tell me that I'd be disappointed, whether it was true or not.

    1. It's not good to go to them if you NEED them to tell you something about your future, and you are going to be sad if it doesn't happen.

Do not stress about your unemployed bf, I believe that things happen for a reason.

Don't forget, you don't need to be married or own a house to have a baby, but I would suggest being financially stable at least!!

I have faith that everything will pick up for you, but perhaps try not too have too much of a plan on how you want life to turn out as that is a recipe for disaster!!

      Delete
    2. I agree with Mez, you don't have to be married and have a house to have children. If having children is really important to you, you will find a way and it will all work out for you.

I'm also a believer in everything happening for a reason. S was looking for a job for a good six months (he was currently employed but hated his job) and had many many interviews but kept getting knocked back even though he had the experience and the degree. He only just got a new job 2 weeks ago and it an absolute dream job with really promising potential. He had to have the knock backs for the good to happen.

      Best of luck!

  5. I've always been a bit skeptical of psychics, but you hear stories all the time about them being right! I guess another few kgs won't really hurt, you'd still be healthy and maybe the guy is actually right if he was right about everything else!

And you can never be wearing too many colours in my opinion!

  6. My bf and I got a 'couples reading' at Sassafrass a couple of years ago. Some stuff was scarily spot on, some stuff was absolute crap, and almost all of the "this is what will happen" stuff....hasn't happened :p I thought it was a bit of fun but definately not something I took too seriously!

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. So the stuff they got right was things in your past?
You are right, it is definitely a bit of fun but I wouldn't base my life on them.

    2. I don't remember too many of the specifics, but it wasn't all just past stuff that was spot on - she talked about a long trip coming up that I was going on too! But yeah, no harm in going to them, I'd do it again...I just don't get too excited (or too upset!) about anything they say :)

  7. i'd love to see a psychic but im also scared because if i hear negative things i would probably be upset/dwell on them. i fall somewhere in between of sceptical and superstitious but who wants to hear bad stuff?

i wish i could put on a few kgs and still look as good as you do! x

Didn't you have a tarot card reading previously? Did the psychic and the tarot reading correspond in any way?

Maybe the weight gain is from the medication and/or future pregnancy?

Have you ever had your astrological chart done? If you know your correct time of birth that could also show up optimum times for possible conception/pregnancy in your future.

Fingers and toes crossed for whatever your heart desires in the future .

    1. Yes, last time we were in Daylesford I had a tarot with another lady..

She said that I would have 2 children, the first being a daughter who was a Virgo and the second a son who was a Leo. She also said that they would be 2 years apart and I would be pregnant during a big holiday when I am 24 (I am 23 now).

This psychic said that I would have 3 kids, and if not careful, more and thinks I will be pregnant within 2-6 months.

The first lady didn’t give me ANY background on myself, or my personality so I really have no idea if she was any good but the second guy was fantastic. He was describing events that happened when I was a child, previous boyfriends etc.

I wont know if either of them are correct about the future until it happens I suppose!!

I’ve never had my astrological chart done, I will look into it – thanks!!

  10. This makes me want to go to a tarrot card reader! I've always been worried that they'll tell me something about my future that I don't want to know - like someone is going to die or something.

Also, saw your post on FB the other day about trying accupuncture. Spooky because earlier that day I had been looking up accupuncture for me!!! I hope you blog about it - I've heard good things about it.

  13. Im definitely a believer and go see a psychic every year (different ones - yes im an addict) They were spot on with me meeting the hubby, his dad and my PSO.
Also told me a male figure uncle will have problems with his bowel - i also thought it was my dad since he's had hernia problems but my uncle (who i dont really talk to) got diagnosed with bowel cancer.
The only thing wrong was ive been told i'd get pregnant soon after the wedding - 8 months later and still no baby

    2. I have an appointment in waiting for October for one psychic (booked 6 months ago)we'll see what she says on the baby front - meanwhile i will line up appointments with doctors and fertility experts lol

I hope the baby thing will happen soon - for you aswell :-)

  14. I am a total non believer but had one amazing reading where I went and wanted to find out more about my health as I had an incurable bowel disease and had been so sick for 18 months. I just wondered about my future and how I was going to cope living like that.

She was really dismissive like "oh I don't see that bothering you after this year" and moved on to other topics and I let it go just thinking she had no idea what she was talking about and I don't believe in that stuff anyway.

But in December that year (about 6 months after the reading) I had surgery to have my colon removed; no colon = no disease! It was an outcome I never thought of for one second but that reading really stuck with me.

The only other thing I remember was that she said I would have a long life so I hope she's correct with that one too!!

    1. Just to add- my mum told me that she and dad (who is the biggest skeptic in the world) went to a reading after they were married and she doesn't remember any of the womans predictions only that when they went back to the car afterwards it had a flat tyre and dad went "why didn't she tell us that?!!" haha

  15. Here's the thing, I have done reading ect and you have to take them for what they are. Just that, remember that at the end you future is only dictated by you, and sometimes you need to go throgh tough stuff to appreciate the good. I have been trying to fall pregnant for years, did acupuncture, saw naturopath, chriopractor EVERYTHING. When it came to it we found out that DH was infertile...completely, imagine my shock that my young, healthy high school sweet heart is unable to give me what I wanted. This never came up in my readings, but it doesn't matter, life goes on regardless of what you know or don't know for that matter. Go get checked out get the medical advice, from years if dealing with every professional under the sun it came down to pure medical advice. No one wants to make it clinical so decide when the right time is, I use an amazing GP in Collins st that got me sorted out.

    1. I know, I don't follow my life according to what they say!

I'm sorry to hear that your husband is infertile, if you don't mind me asking - did you go on to adopt or anything of the like?

I am under supervision from a GP who has me on medication and have an appointment with a fertility specialist in September :)

  16. I've had a few psychic readings, just for a laugh, and I don't reveal much information to them so they're always very vague! although the last one I saw told me I would go through a massive change in my life in 2.5 weeks, and 2.5 weeks later, my fiance proposed. so I guess that was pretty spot on! x

    1. Ha, I am the exact same. I give them ZERO information to work with, I don’t even tell them my surname when I book the appointment!!

That is fantastic that they knew something would happen 2.5 weeks later!!

  18. Heya! I personally wouldn't put weight on because of what a psychic has said haha. Although I was doing obstetrics before and remember reading about how research has shown that the best outcomes for mums and bubs has been correlated to a pre pregancy BMI of 23. So you could calculate yours and gain up to that? You look like yours would be about 21-22 or so now so it wouldn't be too much to gain, but tbh unless your weight is low, like BMI less than 18-19 it shouldnt really affect your fertility.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Thanks for the advice! My BMI is 22, you are good!!

      Delete
    2. Lol yeah I can just roughly visualise it, 18-21 is pretty skinny, 21-23 slim 23-25 curvy haha. Although I do remember you saying you had PCOS? Fat stores oestrogen and can make the cycle worse which is why a lot of people with PCOS fall pregnant after losing weight. Obviously you don't need to lose weight but that's why I'd be hesitant to put weight on since you are already at a healthy weight

  19. PS Totally agree with the thing about the astrological chart. Ask your mum your time of birth. The psychic I go to uses the chart and its scarily accurate on peoples personality traits etc. I have also been to a tarot card reader. Didn't think it was great.

  20. It is worth a go to put on some weight. Don't worry it is then an excuse to buy more clothes, besides, if you were to fall preggers, you would have to anyway!

I went to a psychic just after my mum died and she sent through a message to stop repeating her mistakes with my father and stop barking at my hubby like a dog chasing away the postie. Nice one mum! After that, I did teach myself to stop and think about how I was phrasing things when I was speaking to him. I think that they can be good and have their value.

    1. Wow Jodie, your mum seemed like a determined lady haha! That must have been so strange to have her sending through these messages to you.

I have decided to put on about 3 more kg, see how I go. I lose weight easily if I try, so no drama there.

  22. I don't think a couple of extra kilos will hurt - it is worth a crack, right? I know it seems hard to consider when your clothes are tight already (hello, feeling you, I am in the process of losing 10kg very slowly) but at the end of the day it might make you feel like you have some control over the situation, if that makes sense?

I am a big fan of acupuncture. I know it seems ridiculously crunchy but it helped with my period pain so I would gather it could help with fertility issues? Like the weight gain, worth a crack!

As for the sartorial: I am loving the necklace and I think the whole outfit looks so fabulous!

    ReplyDelete
  23. I never wanted to see a psychic or similar because I think I would be scared of what they say, whether it be negative stuff, or even positive things because I don't want it to affect how I live.

That said, after reading your story and some of the comments, it sounds pretty cool. From this experience and your previous one, did you change anything in your life based on what they said (apart from possibly gaining weight) or do you just take it in and keep going with life as you normally would?

I hope this guy is right and you fall pregnant soon! X
