I
was lucky enough to be approached by Lauren from bellabox Australia about
whether or not I would be interested in receiving and reviewing the March
bellabox on Domestic Divinity.
As
you can imagine, I jumped at the chance! I’ve heard a lot about these beauty
sample subscriptions, but have never signed up for one.
I actually
thought that they were literally little sachets of samples, and boy was I
wrong.
Lauren
emailed me Friday afternoon and the package arrived first thing Tuesday morning
and I also received three emails from Australia Post tracking its whereabouts.
I
had done a little bit of research and was expecting to find a box within a box,
but I found this calico bag instead which makes me happy as I can shove it in
my hand bag on the way home, and it will also make The Husband happy as I tend
to keep all boxes that come into the
house on the off chance that ‘we may need it one day’ or ‘it is perfect for
storing xyz’.
Lovingly
bubble wrapped and a little bellabox sticker. Tick for cute appearance.
The
March theme for bellabox is ‘get naked with bellabox’ and this card has a run
down on the products that are enclosed, as well as the price of the full sized
product and their rating of either ‘Cult, Classic, Eco-Extraordinary, Cult to
Come and Innovative’.
U
Little Beauty Natural Shine Hair Serum ( Eco-Extraordinary)
Tame
your hair daily with Macadamia & Argan oil while being rich in Vitamin C,
use a little or a lot based on your hair type.
Full
size & Price: 100mls $19.95
The
fact that this is the full sized product, and is worth more than the $15 a
month subscription fee makes it already worth while. Anything with Argan oil
involved usually gets a big fat tick from me, so I am looking forward to trying
this out tonight. Luckily it is ‘my hair is an oil slick, must wash before
someone fries an egg on it’ night.
I
could not resist pumping a little on my hand, and oddly enough the scent
reminds me of Sorbalene.
Edit: Well, now I have noticed that this is the Natural Repair Hair Masque, not the Natural Shine Hair Serum as the card said. Shows how observant I am.
I've just washed my hair and used this product and my hair feels fantastic. I did use conditioner after it though as I am wary of just washing oil based products out with only water. So far so good.

Yes
To Carrots Lip Tint (Cult)
This
all natural brand that uses organic fruits & veggies is finally at hand –
or at lip! With real carroty goodness, this luscious little number will have
you smacking your lips together….
$9.95,
2.6gms
I
was a little bit wary of this as the only way I like my carrots are slathered
with Hummus but this does not taste like carrot, fear not.
The
tint is dark enough that you need to look in the mirror during/after
application, kind of like a lipstick. I made the mistake of not looking,
thinking that it was going to be colorless, woops.
Another
full sized & full priced product. Excellent!
Bellamer Eye Balm (Innovative)
Need a soothing experience for the soul – and tired
eyes? This botanical balm is the yoga of
products; relaxing the delicate skin around your peepers and giving it a
well-earned rest.
$40 15gms
I’m not about to slather this on at work, so will have to
get back to you – watch this space.
Eyelift
(Cult to Come)
Pack up
your troubles in your Eyelift Kit bag with this amazingly potent product. Use just a quarter of a pod on your delicate
eye area to achieve a smooth and seriously alluring surface. A particular success at bellabox HQ!
Pods,
potency and a mini spatula – looks like fun!
Lord knows
that I can carry my excessive shopping hauls home in the bags under my eyes so
this is looking useful already and I haven’t even tried it!!
Pure Fiji
Coconut Hydrating Body Lotion (Classic)
Continuing
the yummy theme (from the Carrots Lip Tint) is this refreshing and revitalizing
product of purity – the smell will win you over instantly.
$29.95 –
354mls.
I don’t
even need to bother trying this one. I already have both the 90ml and 354ml in my
drawer here at work. This has been my signature scent since our honeymoon to
Fiji in November. I wear nothing else
but this moisturizer and reapply constantly during the day, leading to people
walking past me and proclaiming that something smells like a Bounty. Yes
people, this is me. I smell delicious at all times!!
Carmans Rounds
– Classic Fruit & Nuts Muesli Biscuit
Low GI
& No preservatives
Anyone that
sends me free food is a winner in my book.
So, for $15
a month (or $165 for 12 months) you receive 5 products and you can cancel any
time. Sounds better than my gym membership which costs $106 a month and has a
cancellation fee. Lord knows I am going to use these cosmetics more than my gym
membership, ha.
I spend
more than $15 a WEEK on Samosas (I hope The Husband is not reading this, he
wants me to kick the habit) and they go straight to my thighs. I am definitely
willing to spend $15 and receive a package of beauty goodies!
I’ve had a
look online at the bellabox website and they are affiliated with some pretty
awesome brands that I use regularly (Bloom, Mor, Milk, Lancome, Napoleon etc)
and plenty more that I have never heard of. Sounds like a great way to trial
products that I may not have ever heard about otherwise.
For me,
this is a win win situation. I feel like
I need something bad to say in this review, but I have nothing!!
Do you
subscribe to bellabox or any of its competitors? What have your thoughts been
so far?
Thanks
again to Lauren and bellabox for giving me the chance to review this awesome product!!
You have a new customer signing up, that is for sure.
This
product was received gratis. Only my personal opinions are
conveyed in this blog post.

Thanks for the review, M!
ReplyDeleteI've been curious about the beauty sample boxes everyone's talking about these days.
Looks like great value.
SSG xxx
Any time!
DeleteDefinitely great value. I'm happy to sign up to anything that involves getting a pretty package every month haha.
Wow, the value of the products far exceeds the subscription fee. I didn't realise it would be by so much... definitely going to look at signing up for this! Thanks for the review :)
ReplyDeleteMe neither! I half expected it to be tiny sachets of samples. I'm impressed!!
DeleteI'm in two minds, yours looks great but others I've seen have been pretty shit. I think they'd make yours good as they know you're reviewing it? They're not going to send you shitty products or sample sizes? I dunno... I'd be interested to see a random one too to see the quality control! Score for you though! Ps samosas nom nom
ReplyDeleteMine is the same as all the others I have seen on twitter & instagram today!
DeleteOnika, I wondered the same thing....
DeleteHow many other bloggers have they gone to this month to do a free review for them and they've stuffed it full of goodies for everyone to see.
Let's see if next months is just as good :P
All you have to do is google March bellabox and search instagram and twitter to see I got the same thing as everyone else.. You weird pessimists!!
DeleteI subscribe to bellabox- this month has been the best thus far. I am limiting myself to one subscription box though. The samples are good for when I travel for work though!
ReplyDeleteOh yeah, I would only want one subscription too. I already have a box of random cosmetics etc that I have not used yet.
DeleteWhat sort of stuff has come in the past?
Great value, especially with that hair oil!
ReplyDeleteI subscribe to Lust Have It, and have been really happy with everything I have had so far. Even the things I think I will never use have come in handy for travel, or just a Sunday arvo when i'm a bit bored!
Who doesn't love a Sunday filled with an at home spa day haha. I know I do. Wait, that is every night. Poor Husband.
DeleteThe eye pods look so cool!
ReplyDeleteI've been getting Bellabox delivered for 3 or 4 months, and each one I've been more than happy with. This month and last month have been super great especially!
I don't subscribe to any other beauty boxes, but I'm certainly happy with this one!!
Good to know that you have been happy with it all so far! I'm excited for next months. Do they ever do make up?
DeleteI subscribe to Lust Have It & I am loving it so far :)
ReplyDeleteWhat cool stuff have you gotten from Lust Have It?
DeleteI may have to look into this beauty box bizzo, I've never even heard of them before!
ReplyDeleteGet on it!!
DeleteI have been receiving the Lust Have It box and have loved it!! So worth $15! Also a great way to discover brands ive never heard of before
ReplyDeleteAgree, for $15 it is hard to go wrong!!
DeleteOhh thanks! Could not help myself signed up. How am I going to hide another delivery from hubby.
ReplyDeleteEasy. Get it delivered to work and then smuggle into beauty cabinet :P
DeleteHahaha that would be good if we did not wor together. I must suck up to my mum, maybe even offer to share some. I call that a win win!
DeleteHaha oh well in that case I have no suggestions!!!! Get mumsy on board for sure!!
DeleteI have been getting Bellabox since they started, and have been more than happy each month! Glad you're jumping on the bandwagon! xx
ReplyDeleteExcellent to hear!!
DeleteI subscribe to both Bellabox and Lust Have It, I've not had one month with either that I've even thought once about canceling. I'm pretty much willing to give any of the products a go. Fun stuff and who doesn't love to receive something special in the mail? Suzanne
ReplyDeleteAgree, anything that comes in the mail full of surprise goodies is a WIN WIN!
DeleteAh this has convinced me to sign up. Checked out both bellabox and lust have it. And going with lust have it as they do more of the brands that i know and like. Thanks for the reviews :)
ReplyDeleteLet me know what goodies you get :)
DeleteThats such a cool idea! Any extras you have feel free to post to your poor big sister over here...
ReplyDeleteJust think, when you move back home I will share my wares with you!
DeleteI got the same box as you this month and am loving it! Was surprised at the calico bag too but really liked the sustainable packaging. I think Bellabox has a more enviromentally conscious twist to their product choices than LustHaveit. Really glad you got to review this box!
ReplyDeleteEnvironmentally conscious does get a tick from me!!
DeleteOh no... I'm supposed to be saving money... must resist signing up! Anyway I was a bit shocked at how much your gym membership is, what does it include? Do you get PT sessions with that? I've just signed up to a gym for $15 a week which includes use of all the facilities and group classes, but no ongoing PT (you just get one consultation to set you up with a program).
ReplyDeleteI know, it is ridiculous. It is because it is a CBD gym. It doesn't include PT at all. It does have a pool.... not that I have ever used it. I need to cancel.
DeleteThanks for sucking me in... ha ha. Looks really good. Have signed up! I'm stuck at home with a baby most of the time now AND I'm an hour plus from the city, so it's nice to know I'll receive some cute bits and pieces in the mail once a month!
ReplyDeleteHey Doll I tagged you in a fun blog entry. You should definitely check it ouhttp://feythebombshellnextdoor.blogspot.com/2012/03/ive-been-tagged-lets-talk-about-me.html
ReplyDeleteI cannot believe how much you pay for your gym!!!
ReplyDeleteIf you come to chapel st to do boxing you should come to my gym!
Its cheap, no contracts ect.... or I could take you in... part of my membership is I can take someone in with me anytime I go!
